Energy Assessment

All new homes constructed after the 1^st April 2010 must be designed to comply with the Building Code of Australia in that they must incorporate thermal properties obtained from an energy efficiency rating of 6 stars.

The advantages to the home owner comes in the form of reduced electricity bills, a more comfortable living environment especially in extreme weather conditions and knowing that your home produces less greenhouse gas emissions. More for you and more for the environment with a technically advanced, modern designed, energy efficient home.

“BersPro” is the Government approved software used to simulate the thermal efficiency of your home in your particular location and is based on historical climate data from the bureau of meteorology. The program takes into account the building orientation, roof and wall insulation, glazing, ventilation, floor coverings etc therefore providing the best outcome for your needs. It also allows us to run simulations using various options to achieve the most cost effective outcome for you.

Your options are not limited to the six star rating. Better ratings can often be achieved with very little modification to the overall design and many owners prefer to take advantage of this at the initial design stage. This can be discussed during the design phase where we will provide you with options to achieve the star rating you desire.
